Within the Homeopathic tradition natural, safe and effective remedies are used to treat an individual with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. Homeopathy is based on the principle of ‘like treats like’, meaning a substance which can cause symptoms when taken in large doses, can be used in small amounts to treat similar symptoms. As a professional homeopath, homeopathic medicines are not generally prescribed to treat symptoms individually, as they are considered to be only the outward sign that someones vital force is struggling to overcome disease. Instead a remedy is prescribed for the whole person.

Consultations

Consultations last approximately 1½ hours. A detailed and thorough understanding of your specific symptoms will take place during the initial consultation. Laureen will ask a lot of questions to build up a complete picture, taking into account a wide variety of factors such as medical history and personality traits in order to understand what is unique about you and how your body and mind express themselves. This level of individualisation, in addition to your overall level of health, enables the most appropriate remedy to be matched to you. This is vital as patients who have the same diagnosed illness, are each likely to need different homeopathic medicines.

As homeopathic treatment involves a gradual process of change towards health, a number of follow-up reviews may be necessary, depending on how long the symptoms have been going on, your response to the prescription, your age etc.

Initial consultation    (1½ hours)     £75 (inclusive of remedies) age 12 & over

Review consultations (1 hour)        £55 (inclusive of remedies) 

£10 discount off full fee for initial consultation for children age 11 & under

Payment by cash or cheque only

Fee assumes collection of remedies in person, following case analysis after the consultation.

Remedy Prescription

Remedies can be viewed as both alternative and / or complementary as there are no known interactions between prescription drugs and homeopathic medicines, and are often successfully used alongside one another in an integrated approach. This differs significantly from many herbal supplements which may interact with conventional drugs as, unlike homeopathic remedies, herbs are often not diluted. It is always recommended that you maintain your relationship with your GP or specialist.
