Reflexology

Reflexology    (bespoke mobile screen in place for sessions)

In western culture, Reflexology is often described as a natural treatment aimed at achieving relaxation through the soothing massage and gentle application of pressure to the foot. It is a specific pressure technique and widely accepted among complementary therapies as being of benefit to the reduction of stress and tension.

Within the tradition of oriental medicine, the foot is seen as a mirror image or a mini map of the body, with the structures and organs of the body being reflected in miniature on the various parts of the feet. With its roots in ancient healing, variations of modern day Reflexology were used by early Egyptian and Chinese civilisations. The eastern principles associate a reflex area for each individual part of the body and by stimulating these reflexes the natural healing forces are believed to be awakened, blockages released and harmony and health restored.

Sessions

The aim of Tranquillity Natural Therapy is to provide an    un-hurried approach to maximising the relaxation of the treatment. Since qualifying in 2000, Laureen believes extending the traditional treatment session to 1½hours maximises a deeper sense of restfulness and calm.

Laureen obtained both her Diploma and Advanced Reflexology certificate with the reputable Sheila Nugent School of Reflexology (formerly Chrysalis School of Reflexology).
